Buying an Office Chair - Part 1
GENERAL OFFICE ERGONOMICS "Improving your safety and productivity while increasing your comfort" |
Stretching is a key means of reducing the short term and long term effects of spending a long time using the computer. General guidelines for stretching are:
|
- You need to stretch at a minimum of three times per day. Preferrably once in the morning, once after lunch and once late in the afternoon.
- The more often you stretch, the better.
- You might find it fun to stretch with a partner.
- You will be more productive and less fatigued if you will stretch. Therefore, if you find yourself too busy to stretch, that is the time when you really need to stop, take a break, and stretch.
- You may find a short walk is more comfortable to you than stretching.
- Do not perform any stretch which causes you discomfort or pain. Stretching is supposed to feel good, not hurt.
- Vision breaks are also important and should be performed at least every thirty minutes.
