WORKPLACE ERGONOMICS
Re: Champion Seating Company
"Ergonomic Chair"
Dear Purchasing or Human Resources
Director:
I have had the opportunity to
personally review and test the features of the Champion
MVP Ergonomic Chair as manufactured by Champion Seating Co., Inc. as
of 1/19/98. I was very pleased with the innovations made
for work place seating comfort and adjustability, and
highly recommend its use. This functional workplace
chair meets or exceeds all ergonomic design
recommendations suggested by the American Chiropractic
Association and the Foundation for Chiropractic
Education and Research. [Donkin, SW; "Sitting Fit
and Sitting on the Job." FCER publications, 1991]
The unique features of this chair
include back height adjustment with high back molded
lumbar cushion support; back tilt adjustment with
independent front and back pitch settings; easy
adjusting pneumatic seat height; infinite lock or
free-floating adjustment for specific position control;
tension control adjustment; seat slider and seat depth
control; and 8 position adjustable arm support. All of
these adjustments can be made by the user from a seated
position using conveniently placed levers, knobs and
paddles.
The quality of the chair itself
and materials used in its manufacturing are excellent. This chair appears to have both great
versatility and durability. In addition, this chair
would appear to offer great advantages to the computer
work station user as well as the board room executive.
In the current high-tech work
environment, proper ergonomics and human performance
play key roles in worker productivity. Rising health
care costs and continuous training and replacement in
high turnover jobs are forcing businesses to consider
methods and programs designed to develop more
functional, more flexible and more forgiving workplaces
with regard to the normal stresses and strains placed on
the individual. This chair would appear to offer and
affordable proactive solution to many common workplace
problems.
Sincerely,

Kevin D. Kanz, D.C. DAAPM, FABDA
